Ms. Phyllis Julie Amartey has over 30+ years of experience working in managing large programs in Sub-Sahara Africa in areas of finance, grants and administration in increasingly senior management positions for non-governmental organizations in Africa. In her line of work, she overseas the financial management activities, including financial controls, accounting, and audit, as well as reporting on accruals, pipeline, and expense validation and reimbursement to service providers.
Phyllis obtained her master's degree from United States International University – Africa (USIU-Africa), Nairobi-Kenya, graduated successfully in Master’s in International Business Administration and Finance. She also graduated with Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Messiah College, Pennsylvania, USA, in Business Education – Business Administration, Management & Accounting.
She’s worked for NGOs with operations in Eastern and West Africa covering the areas of humanitarian relief assistance and long term development, assistance to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) mainly from HIV/AIDS, and behavior change communications in relation to addressing community mobilization on health issues including Malaria and its continuous distribution of LLINs; Maternal, Child Health, Family Planning, and Child Nutrition; Water, Sanitation and Hygiene(WASH); and HIV/AIDS and COVID-19.
Her working experience has aspired her near perfect in all respects. She loves to add values to her goals, leveraging on job knowledge and understanding business needs. Communication to her expresses ideas in ways that builds commitment, inspires others, invites open dialogue and allows candid discussions across all different levels within an organization. Effective communication, links daily work to achieving strategic goals and motivates others towards achieving their stretched objectives. As humanly as we are, I believe in constantly analysing results and to allow room for adjustments to meet or exceed objectives. She has a deep sense of commitment towards staff development, that creates a learning environment with all standards and that holds staff accountable for continuous growth.
