Born and raised in Ghana, Dr. Boateng graduated in 1973 from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi. After working briefly as the Chemical Engineer for Tarkwa Goldfields, he pursued graduate studies at the University of Toronto in Canada, earning MASc and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering. He later pursued the study of Business Administration to complement his Engineering competency
Dr. Boateng is the inventor of many chemical and metallurgical processes and has 25 patents and several publications to his name. The process for the production of germanium is one of his notable inventions. For many years Dr Boateng became very successful managing the operation of a variety of metallurgical/chemical plants as the Operating Manager of a business unit. He during that period pursued further studies in Business Administration to support his business management and marketing of germanium. Prior to his retirement from active service from industry giant Teck Cominco, Dr. Boateng served as the Business Strategy Manager for many years.
With a strong desire for learning and a flair for taking on multiple disciplines, Dr. Boateng took Nuclear Engineering courses, studied and graduated with a Diploma from the then Ontario Bible College in Toronto and also completed the course requirements to achieve the Chartered Insurance Professional accreditation in Canada. He is a technically strong leader with a keen business focus - a strong grasp of business and financial principles, as well as a broad multidisciplinary knowledge and experience of related fields.
With a strong determination to see Ghana Canada Medical Centre (GCMC) achieve greater and greater success, Dr Boateng has for the last two to three years committed to devote a lot of his time to drive a relentless pursuit of excellence at GCMC. He places his trust in God to bring about sustained superior performance through transformational and strategic leadership.
